The Post-Birthday Wishlist

June 27, 2014

wishlist

This is the first time in years that I didn’t post a birthday wishlist before my birthday. I know, such a shocker! Good thing it’s still my birthday so I’m totes allowed to still post a wishlist even though I should be working on other things such as my Seoul backlog. Anyway.

I’m not sure what happened that I’m suddenly interested in anything white. I guess it just looks clean and looks great with everything. Or maybe I spend too much time on Tumblr style blogs. When I was a bit younger and had more sense (yes, it works backwards for me!), I don’t wear anything white. I loathed my all-white high school uniform and never considered going to a university that will require me to wear a white uniform. Pretty much the only reason my mother couldn’t convince me to take up Nursing, hehe. I’m messy, disorganized, burara.  I recently bought a white leather backpack that has now turned creamy. Wearing anything white is a no-no. But it’s so pretty I can’t help but want to.

I think the only reason I put the other items on my wishlist is so that the photo above won’t look too plain. Ahem. Off with the list! [Read more…]

A Twentysomething’s Bucket List : 30 Before 30

June 13, 2014

thirty before thirty

Growing old has always been scary for me. Though I always look up at grownups and wonder if I’ll ever look as mature and responsible as them, the thought of aging another year every freaking year freaks me out. And that sentence is pretty messed up, but growing a year older is just really scary for me. I always feel like the clock is ticking and I should do something, anything.

That’s why I make lists. That’s why I start every week with a to-do list. That’s why I list down all the tasks I have to accomplish within the day. I love making lists, even though I can never cross out every item off the list. This is why making a bucket list has always been on the back of my mind, though I find it difficult to write one. This is is weird, though, because I wrote my first bucket list before I graduated from high school. This should come easier, right? I saw my old list and almost cried because the things I wanted when I was 15 are pretty much the same things I want now that I’m already 24! Some dreams never change.

There’s no better time to write one. I’m currently having an early onset of quarter-life crisis, and I think I really need to pause for a while and know what I want to do with my life. I can’t panic now, even though a doctor once said that I probably have anxiety disorder, heh. I’m only 24. I have my whole life ahead of me to figure out this shit.

I want to be so many things all at once but that’s impossible. So I’m only making a 30 Before 30 list, because figuring out the things I want till I’m 80 is a bit overwhelming. Let this be the first part of my bucket list. I’m challenging myself until 30 to accomplish these 30 things. I know bucket lists don’t sit well with some people, but I always need to be reminded of the things I have and need to do.

I thought limiting myself to just 30 things will be difficult. It turns out that filling in the list is even more challenging. But here it is. I came up with the 30 things that I’ve always wanted, things that I’m too lazy to do, and things that I’m too scared to try. These are some of the greatest desires and challenges of my heart. I can’t wait to cross them out one by one. And maybe, just maybe, repeat them again and again. [Read more…]

So Far, So Tired

April 19, 2014

IMG_20140330_151445

Tired is good. Tired means I’m not just being idle with time. Tired means I’m exerting effort and trying to do something productive.

2014 has been an incredibly busy year so far. I feel like I’m always on the go that I barely have enough time for everything on my to-do list. I think this has been the longest time I haven’t watched an Asian movie. For a fanatic, that’s a sign that I’m really having some troubles balancing my time.

Obviously, I’ve been busy with blogging. Between Oh My Janey and Asian Fixations, my blogger hands are already full. But I love every minute of it. Writing has been my life-blood ever since I can remember, and the joy of writing whatever I want and having people actually listen (no matter how few!) is enough to make my heart go dugeun dugeun. I’ve also made quite a few friends from halfway across the universe since I started, and they’re probably the best reasons why blogging rocks.

My friends and I also recently started a site for Millenials in Manila which we decided to call Manillenials, because we’re cheesy like that. I am excited and happy for this project, because blogging is made 10 times more fun with friends. I have so much hope and dreams for this site, and I can’t wait to see it all unfold. I do hope we can maintain it and we never run out of stories. It’ll be tough, and I can only pray that it’ll be a fun ride.

Also, I chopped off my hair.

Hello, I'm Janey. I'm a fangirl, a bookworm, a dreamer and a wannabe writer. I'm a couch potato and a traveler rolled into one.
This is my lame attempt to be a travel blogger, but honestly, this is just an archive of my daily reality.
