Tagaytay Weekend: Bag of Beans and Sky Ranch

May 22, 2014

tagaytay 1

It’s been 4 years since Alex and I officially became a couple, but it’s only this year that we finally got to go somewhere for our anniversary. So yes, I was pretty excited when planning for our Tagaytay weekend, because yay we’re finally going somewhere that’s not a mall! Unfortunately, we don’t exactly have the freedom to travel places right now. So even though Tagaytay is just two hours away from the metro, I’ll still take it. It’s still different from our usual dates. 🙂

It was a pretty sunny day but not as hot as Manila, so we had a fun time walking around. Though we got a bit lost looking for Bag of Beans. Hehe. Yes, I finally got to try Bag of Beans. There are currently two branches in Tagaytay and we tried the one near Olivarez plaza. Being the cheapskate that I am, I find it quite expensive, but it’s worth it. I guess.

We sat at the veranda overlooking Taal Lake and the view was pretty grand. Watching pretty clouds on a windy day while on a date? Yes please. [Read more…]

BenCab Museum and Cafe Sabel

March 11, 2014

Let it be known that I am no artist. In fact, people are quick to judge my draw stick figures and my lettering. Also, every piece of art is good to me. I can never distinguish which is good or bad, but since it’s subjective, I want to console myself by saying that it doesn’t matter. I am very easily pleased and very easily awed by the beautiful.

Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed BenCab. It’s our first stop in our short Baguio Weekend, since we figured it’s quite out of the way. It’s located less than 30 minutes away from Baguio, and it’s definitely worth a visit. The museum is overlooking a valley and a well landscaped garden. There are works from different artists, and of course, Sir BenCab’s works. I’ll stop talking now, because no words can ever succeed in describing art. (Also, it will only sound presumptuous coming from me. Heh.)
