Two Years in the Little Red Dot

August 28, 2021

Two years this month, I packed my bags, left home, and tried my luck in Singapore.

I’ll just stay there for two years, I said.

I’ll just go home if I get homesick, I said.

There’s no guarantee I’ll be able to find a job anyway, I said.

But this week already marked my second year in the Little Red Dot, and I’m already in my second job and in my second home. So much has happened in the past two years, but also so little!

Two years fly by so quickly when you’re in the middle of a pandemic, isn’t it?

Hello, My Thirties!

June 5, 2021

A couple of years ago, I made it a point to publish a birthday post every year. But life happened and I skipped the last few birthdays. And what do you know? I’m suddenly 31.

I was twenty when I first started this blog, fresh out of college and excited to find out what the real world is all about. I did a good job documenting my early twenties and capturing all my highs and lows. I meticulously recorded all my travels and made a point to do introspective quarterly or yearly reviews of my life.

The past two years, however, remained undocumented, even though I feel like those were my most tumultuous years. I said goodbye to my twenties without a single parting word on this blog.

Life Lately

January 24, 2021

This is an old photo and I have no photo to illustrate my life lately, lol.

Today was just a regular day, but my shower thoughts went something like, “Oh, it’s that day of the month and I haven’t blogged in 10,000 years. Why don’t I publish an update for my three readers?” So here I am, oversharing again like I had done when I was younger and more impressionable.

Exactly six months ago from today, I found out that I might actually grow old alone, and I’m still trying to live with that fact. It had been a series of tearful weekends, soju nights, impulsive life decisions, useless Shopee purchases, and eye-opening realizations since then.

Printcious Gifts: Customized Shirts, Bags, and Whatnots

November 9, 2019

For someone who’s not creative at all, I tend to have shirts customized for whatever reason I could think of. Sometimes, I just make lame excuses so I could customize shirts. Be it to attend a KPOP concert and show my bias for my favorite KPOP artists or to wear couple shirts on our anniversary (29-year-old me is cringing, but it was cute then!), I have always enjoyed customizing shirts.

So when Printcious Gifts approached me for a collab, I got excited because it’s been so long since I last had shirts customized. Aside from shirts, they have tons of other products that you can also give as gifts, such as tote bags, caps, lanyards, cushions, phone cases, mugs and so much more.

Life Lately: On Finding My Light and Stepping Out of Comfort Zones

January 21, 2019

I will always remember 2018 as the year I struggled and survived. It was a pretty amazing year because of all the lessons I learned, and I am amazed and awed at how I thrived through what could possibly be the most challenging year so far.

I met the worst and best versions of myself last year, and I am thankful to the people who stayed despite everything. I am not sure how my loved ones put up with it.

It was a wake up call early last year that helped me get my shit together. It didn’t happen immediately and most probably not that apparent that I went through changes. Sometimes, it’s still a struggle to keep my focus and motivation, and I have to constantly remind myself that all this is not for naught.

Looking back, a lot of things that  happened last year didn’t to make it to my blog. Well, I didn’t really blog much so most of the things I did, saw, experienced, felt, and witnessed didn’t really make it here. I’m hoping my yearly roundup would be enough reminder that 2018 was a difficult year, but definitely still a good one.

When I was trying to write this post earlier this year, I had the sudden motivation to unearth the boxes under my bed. It was embarrassing to read my old diary entries. However, it was also enlightening to see how much I have grown but also how little I have changed. I still have ugly handwriting, and I still like KPOP. I still have too many feelings, and I still resort to writing to express my thoughts and emotions. [Read more…]
