Disneyland Hong Kong: Flights of Fantasy

May 26, 2013

IMG_2676 IMG_2680 IMG_2677 IMG_2686 IMG_2689 IMG_2684 IMG_2721 IMG_2715 IMG_2728 IMG_2742 IMG_2722

This will never get old.

No matter how many times I see the Disneyland parade, I will never get tired of it. And even if the song is in Chinese, I’d still foolishly hum to the tune of it. Haha! It’s really such a delight to watch. Even though there are tons of rides in Disneyland, everyone should still make the time to watch the parade. Work your schedule around just to make sure that you arrive on time, and if possible, you get to be at the very front! That’s what we did and it really paid off.

I wish to get back to Disneyland because one day seems to be never enough to try everything. I’m nuts about amusement parks, and if you’d think that it’ll be a waste to come even though I’ve tried it before, well, it’s never a waste for me!

I’m a kid at heart, and Disneyland just really makes me feel that I’m in the right place, and it’s always the right time. 🙂

Company Team Building at Camp Tipolo Rizal

May 22, 2013

IMG_3442

Camp Tipolo is a training camp of sort where companies can organize their team buildings. Last saturday, my team was fortunate enough to experience the rough training in the camp. There were a lot of screaming, splashes, laughter and trash talk. It was pretty fun. Haha.

IMG_3643IMG_3640 IMG_3650IMG_3596 IMG_3484 IMG_3720 I’ve been to a few team buildings but this one was probably the most intense and challenging. I got to try so many things such as the Tarzan Jump which I sucked, the tight rope which I was good at and the mud crawl which was just plain dirty. What’s exciting about it all was that you know you could end up failing but it’s okay because you’re not the only one. Haha! I didn’t try the the  Balancing Log, though, because first step onto the log and I was already quivering. Balancing simply isn’t my thing. [Read more…]

Old Mongkok

May 16, 2013

IMG_2896 IMG_2339IMG_2345 IMG_2326 IMG_2891

Hong Kong is old.

It’s filled with neon lights and every corner seems to be so bright, no matter what time of day. It’s a city that feels so lived in. How many people must have walked the streets, day in and day out, every day, every minute of it. It’s a city that never sleeps, and it’s a city that never turned off its lights.

I’ve been to Hong Kong thrice, and everytime I’d think that there’s nothing more to see. And everytime I am proven wrong. There will always be new people to meet, and new things to try. I will always have a first time. Hong Kong taught me how to deal with all kinds of people, even with those I don’t really want to deal with.

Hong Kong is old, but I love how every nook, every cranny seems to tell a story.

This time, I’ve been told of the story of Mongkok. I saw it beyond its image as a shopping district. It’s a place full of youth, spending all night with friends, taking photos and chatting in the middle of the street. It’s a mix of the commercial attractions with the old buildings and cheap hostels. It’s a combination I really like, for the mere fact that the old knows how to combine with the new.

It’s nice to see Mongkok in a new light.

The Long-Awaited Hong Kong/Macau Trip

May 16, 2013

This trip had been years in the making, and finally, finally it pushed through! Tita Matt said that we should go to Hong Kong after Gian graduated from grade school, and we did! It was quite tiring since we arrived in Hong Kong on May 10 at around 10PM and left on the 13th early in the morning. So it’s basically two days and three late nights. But it was fun, and it was definitely worth it.

IMG_2762 1It was definitely not easy to travel with kids, especially when they’re not used to walking around all the time. Let’s just say they’re not the most active kids around. Good thing they aren’t the type who’d ask to be carried when they’re tired. And as Ate put it, even if she gets paid 1000 HKD to carry Nana the entire day, she wouldn’t. Haha. [Read more…]

Birthday Wishlist Ver. 23.0

May 14, 2013

wishlistIn just a few weeks I’m turning another year older, and for the first time in a long time, I actually feel excited. I’m a birthday grinch after all, but suddenly growing older doesn’t sound too bad!

Anyway, since my birthday’s near, it’s time for another wish list! I don’t want much this year. Oh really.

  1. Holga 120 – I borrowed Kimpee’s Holga 120 for my Hong Kong/Macau trip last weekend, and I enjoyed using it! I think most of my shots are fail ones, though. Haha. I also bought a box of three color negative films, and I didn’t get to use one. So I now feel obliged to buy my own Holga to use the films. Haha. A secondhand will do. 🙂
  2.  16GB SD card – I’ve had my phone for about 6 months now, but I’m getting a bit stingy about this. Hee.
  3. The Complete Sherlock Holmes – I already have the ebook but I’d really rather have the books. I got addicted to Sherlock Holmes after I watched the BBC series Sherlock. Then I watched RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes, then watched Elementary! So I really, really want to read the book.
  4. 4GB flash drive – Just because. 🙂
  5. Close encounter with CNBLUE – They’re having a concert here in June so I’m hoping that I’d be able to get in close contact with them in the airport. Haha.
  6. Tone concert DVD – Pretty much the only thing I’m planning to buy in HK but I passed by only one music store and it’s not available. When oh when would I be able to buy this one. Huhu

Dear friends, I know that most aren’t cheap, but you can just chip in if you want. I won’t mind. Wahahaha. 🙂
