Daddy’s Pasalubong

April 30, 2011

My father arrived from Italy last night! I only found out on Thursday night that he’s already coming home. In fact, he was already on the plane when I found out. That’s how good my family is at communication. The good news is that my father’s probably not going back to Italy. We’ve been nagging him to not go back for a few years now. Finally!

Anyway, let me say first that my father loves to spoil me and my sister. He pretty much loves to give us all the material things in the world, even those that we do not need or want. In fact, it takes my mother, ate, and I to stop him from buying so many things. It’s kind of awkward how the only one in my family who likes branded stuff is my father. I could care less if my shirt’s from Divisoria but my father loves buying at those expensive stores.

This time, I only asked him to buy for me one thing: a portable 1TB external HD. I even told him that I’d pay for it but he told me that I didn’t have to. My parents said that it will serve as their birthday/Christmas gift. So I agreed. But it turned out that he bought me other things. Well, I could only be grateful, right? I’m blessed to have parents who love me unconditionally and would give me anything, even before I ask. I love you mommy and daddy! :

The Great Maundy Thursday Adventure

April 24, 2011

Every year, we go to Dolores and Lucban to celebrate Maundy Thursday. This year’s a bit different, though, since we visited other churches in Laguna and Quezon. It’s really tiring but it was all worth it! I never fail to enjoy myself when I’m with my family. I have tons of cousins, anyway, so having a good time is inevitable. I asked my mother about this and she said that what we did is called Visita Iglesias. I am quite hesitant to call it that since we didn’t do the Station of the Cross. There were too many kids with us, and they were quite a handful. It would be hard to keep them still. We spend around 20 minutes for each church, making sure to say our prayers and sometimes, to light a candle or two. [Read more…]

52 Books: March Books

April 15, 2011

To tell you honestly, I am quite  not sure where I found the time to read seven books in a month. When I look back at March, I realized that I actually went out a lot more than usual. (I’m a homebody, remember?) Maybe it’s because I read three thin novels that’s why I managed to read 7. I told you I pretty much have all the time in the world. I love my job, I can do anything I want after work hours. Anyway, even though I’ve read two books more than usual, I still can’t say March is a good reading month. The books I read for this month didn’t evoke that much emotion from me. Heh. [Read more…]

The Bottomless Pits

April 10, 2011

My high school barkada and I were supposed to go to Liliw today. But that all changed due to the time (we were two hours behind sched) and the sweltering heat. We end up staying in San Pablo and went diner-hopping. We refused to go to SM San Pablo and opted to eat at different dining places, instead. I have no idea how we managed to do it! I wasn’t able to take pictures of everything I ate: Steak with rice, Sans Rival, Brazo de Mercedes, Rocky Road cheesecake, Tonkatsu, Suki Potatoes, Sisig, Liemposilog, and Choco Sundae. Just typing all that makes me exhausted (ok, not really) so I really don’t know how I managed to eat everything! We ate at Si Christina (highly recommended!),  RCC, Suki, and Joel Town ‘D Original Liemposilog.

The entire day wasn’t enough to bond. I demand a sleepover!

Hello, I'm Janey. I'm a fangirl, a bookworm, a dreamer and a wannabe writer. I'm a couch potato and a traveler rolled into one.
This is my lame attempt to be a travel blogger, but honestly, this is just an archive of my daily reality.
