Cable Car Ride to Ngong Ping Village

March 7, 2013

Lately, I’m missing travel and realized that I have tons of Hong Kong photos that I haven’t blogged yet. So while I’m still not busy, I should probably work on my backlog.

I’ve been to Hong Kong twice (then will be back there this May!) but my favorite place to visit is definitely the Ngong Ping Village where you can see the Giant Buddha.  The cable car ride up the mountains is quite an experience itself. It’s a 20-minute ride up to the clouds. Or maybe it was just a gloomy day that the clouds were so low when we took the ride. It really felt like we entered the clouds since at one point, we couldn’t see anything but clouds! It was lovely.

Haszelle and I were lucky because when we went there in June, the clouds were always heavy but not once did we encounter rain! Also, we went to Ngong Ping Village the morning we watched the Music Bank in Hong Kong. So we were tired during the concert since the climbed the long stairs up the Giant Buddha. I cried. Stairs and I don’t really get along. But it was worth it, I guess, since it was so cold up there. Now, the cold and I get along.

I wish I can bring my family to Ngong Ping when we go to HK this May but my parents don’t like heights and we’re only staying there for two days so I don’t know.
