For my company’s Christmas party and team building last year, we went to Subic Bay! It was a day trip so you could just imagine how tiring it was. I almost didn’t join them because I don’t like getting tired (arte haha). But I’m glad I was there with them! Yes, it was tiring. Yes, the traveling time to and fro Subic was too long. But it was all worth it.

When we got there, the first thing we did was watch an acrobatic show comprising of Kenyan acrobats. It was so enjoyable but I couldn’t get a decent shot because everyone in front was taller than me. Haha. That show resulted to a lot of jokes that are still funny now. It was really entertaining, though, and my jaw was left dropping at the end of the performance.

After that, there was the dolphin and sea lion shows. I know that there are a lot of people who aren’t in favor of animals being treated this way. But I frankly don’t see anything so wrong in it. It’s not like they’re being treated with cruelty, not that I know of, anyway. It was fun, too, and highly entertaining. However, I was so hungry in the middle of the dolphin show that I was already crying for food. I almost died when we still had to watch the sea lion show before we could eat.

Then came lunch time and it was buffet and I was so happy I cried. Not really.

We thought the cheering competition would happen right after lunch but we were shocked when we were directed someplace else. Tada! So it really was a team-building since there’s a speaker and all. It wasn’t so bad, though, since we were taught how to dance to Buttercup. And the games were fun, but I’d withhold any other personal opinion that I know could jeopardize my work. Haha!

Finally, it’s time for the games and cheering competition. I am happy to be part of a competitive and happy family, a.k.a. my department-mates. Everyone participated and everyone’s just having a good time. But you know what’s so amazing about it? it’s that we only did what we have to do while enjoying, and we won! We didn’t win in the overall competition but we won a game and we even won first place in the cheer dance! It was amazing, really.

And that concludes our day trip to Subic. Too bad we didn’t get to swim even though the ocean’s just screaming at us to take a plunge. But there just wasn’t any time left. It was tiring but fun, all thanks to the craziest people I know. 🙂
